Certificate in Community-Based Assessment and Evaluation at St. Mary’s

The Certificate in Community-Based Assessment and Evaluation at St. Mary’s University is designed to prepare students to help non-profit organizations build internal capacity for culturally responsive evaluation. Students learn how to assemble and make sense of quantitative and qualitative data for the purposes of providing an ecological sound account of program impact.

Program of Study

The 15-credit-hour certificate program is offered on campus to undergraduate students and online to graduate students.

Undergraduate Certificate in Community-Based Assessment and Evaluation

Students pursuing the undergraduate certificate will strengthen their applications to graduate school by learning advanced concepts in applied statistics, measurement and grant writing. The program also provides students with practical experience through collaborations with local nonprofit organizations and the foundation to build a strong professional network.

Graduate Certificate in Community-Based Assessment and Evaluation (Online)

Students pursuing the graduate certificate will develop research skills and strengthen their knowledge of statistics, making them more appealing to prospective doctoral programs or employers. Students will learn to apply their knowledge and expertise toward addressing complex problems affecting vulnerable populations, as well as gain practical experience to build new professional relationships and résumés.
