To ensure these spaces fulfill their intended purposes and meet expectations for where information can be found, all content should be placed in the appropriate channel. <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Websites<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">St. Mary\u2019s University and Law Websites (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.stmarytx.edu\">www.stmarytx.edu<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/law.stmarytx.edu\">law.stmarytx.edu<\/a>)<\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><strong>Primary purpose: marketing tool to promote enrollment<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>As a method for student recruitment, the St. Mary\u2019s website should focus on an external audience. Only information that is of use to prospective students or people outside our internal community belongs on these websites.  <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Some examples of content that <strong>should<\/strong> go on the St. Mary\u2019s website: <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Academic program descriptions <\/li><li>Admission and financial aid information <\/li><li>Details on conferences and lectures that are open to the public <\/li><li>Commencement information <\/li><li>Faculty bios <\/li><\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Some examples of content that <strong>should not<\/strong> go on the St. Mary\u2019s website: <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Degree plans (should go in Catalog) <\/li><li>Internal forms (should go in Gateway) <\/li><li>University policy (should go in Policy Library) <\/li><\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><em>If you have content that is appropriate for the website, fill out the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/app.smartsheet.com\/b\/form\/440f79a1b9a7441cae803b9f5712f17f\" target=\"_blank\">Web Content Update Request Form<\/a>. <\/em><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">St. Mary\u2019s Catalog (<a href=\"http:\/\/catalog.stmarytx.edu\">catalog.stmarytx.edu<\/a>)<\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><strong>Primary purpose: document academic offerings for all programs <\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The St. Mary\u2019s Catalog must be the\u00a0legally binding and\u00a0definitive source of degree program information\u00a0and academic policies. It is maintained by University Communications. <em>If you have changes that need to be made, <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/gateway.stmarytx.edu\/group\/mycampus\/services\/university-communications\" target=\"_blank\">contact University Communications<\/a> who will direct you to the correct editor.<\/em> <\/li><\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">St. Mary\u2019s Athletics (<a href=\"http:\/\/rattlerathletics.com\">rattlerathletics.com<\/a>) <\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The St. Mary\u2019s Athletics website is the hub for all information related to collegiate sports. This includes game schedules, tickets and facilities. <em>The site is maintained by the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/gateway.stmarytx.edu\/group\/mycampus\/campus-life\/play\/athletics\" target=\"_blank\">Athletics department<\/a>. <\/em><\/li><\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Blume Library site (<a href=\"http:\/\/lib.stmarytx.edu\">lib.stmarytx.edu<\/a>) <\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The Louis J. Blume Library website is where students and faculty can access the digital collection, receive help with research and book a study room. <em>The site is maintained by <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/lib.stmarytx.edu\/home\" target=\"_blank\">Blume Library<\/a>. <\/em><\/li><\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Law Library website (<a href=\"http:\/\/lawlib.stmarytx.edu\">lawlib.stmarytx.edu<\/a>) <\/3h>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The Sarita Kenedy East Law Library website is where students and faculty can access the digital collection and receive help with research. <em>The site is maintained by the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/lawlib.stmarytx.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\">Law Library<\/a>.<\/em> <\/li><\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Digital Commons (<a href=\"http:\/\/commons.stmarytx.edu\">commons.stmarytx.edu<\/a>)<\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Digital Commons is an online repository showcasing scholarly research, journal publications, creative works and expertise. These virtual university archives and special collections highlight the academic products created by St. Mary&#8217;s students, faculty and staff. <em>The law site is maintained by <a href=\"mailto:sfowler@stmarytx.edu\">sfowler@stmarytx.edu<\/a> and the University site is maintained by <a href=\"mailto:jcrane3@stmarytx.edu\">jcrane3@stmarytx.edu<\/a>.<\/em><\/li><\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Other Digital Tools<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Gateway (<a href=\"http:\/\/gateway.stmarytx.edu\">gateway.stmarytx.edu<\/a>)<\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><strong>Primary purpose: informational and transactional tool for students, faculty and staff <\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Gateway is meant to provide necessary information to the St. Mary\u2019s internal community. Gateway should be the place where students, faculty and staff can reliably find the information needed to take advantage of all that the University has to offer. It is also the portal for all transactions. <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Some examples of content that <strong>should<\/strong> go on Gateway: <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Thorough details on student services, such as Health and Counseling <\/li><li>Course registration <\/li><\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Intramural sport and campus recreation information <\/li><li>Resident hall work order form <\/li><\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Some examples of content that <strong>should not<\/strong> go on Gateway: <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Information meant for prospective students or parents (should go on St. Mary\u2019s website).<\/li><\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><em>If you have content that is appropriate for Gateway, <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/servicedesk.stmarytx.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\">make an IT ticket<\/a>. <\/em><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Canvas (<a href=\"http:\/\/stmarytx.instructure.com\">stmarytx.instructure.com<\/a>) <\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><strong>Primary purpose: portal for professors and students to exchange information <\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Canvas is the primary method of communication for professors to speak to their students and vice versa.
