{"id":81,"date":"2019-03-01T09:36:00","date_gmt":"2019-03-01T09:36:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.stmarytx.edu\/policies\/?post_type=presp&#038;p=81"},"modified":"2019-03-01T09:36:00","modified_gmt":"2019-03-01T09:36:00","slug":"hiring-for-mission","status":"publish","type":"office-president","link":"https:\/\/www.stmarytx.edu\/policies\/office-president\/hiring-for-mission\/","title":{"rendered":"Hiring for Mission"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">St. Mary&#8217;s Bylaws<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Article 2.3 Hiring for Mission Statement<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Responsive to the Catholic identity of St. Mary\u2019s University and to its sponsorship by the Society of Mary, the following hiring policies are honored:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>To further its objectives, the University shall recruit and appoint qualified faculty and staff who, whether Catholic or not, are committed to actively supporting the mission of the University.<\/li><li>To further its objectives, the University shall give special consideration to recruiting and appointing qualified faculty members of the Society of Mary, the Daughters of Mary Immaculate, and lay Marianists to positions at the University.<\/li><li>To further its objectives, the University shall give special consideration to recruiting and appointing qualified active members of the Roman Catholic faith to positions at the University.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Manifest competence for a position is a requisite in all the above situations. No one is hired for the \u201cMarianist\u201d or \u201cCatholic\u201d reason alone. Any Catholic and Marianist candidates who are hired under the above hiring policies must clearly be qualified for the positions, and are subject to all of the performance reviews within the University.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":0,"parent":0,"menu_order":0,"template":"","class_list":["post-81","office-president","type-office-president","status-publish","hentry"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v28.0 -
