All employees have a right to work in a safe environment and share the responsibility for assuring each other\u2019s safety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The University prohibits physical assaults (fights), threatening comments, intimidation, and the intentional destruction of any University property, employee\u2019s property, or merchandise. Any comments or behavior that reasonably could be interpreted as intent to do harm to an employee or property will be considered a threat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Any employee who believes he\/she may be the target of violence or threats of violence or is aware of violent or threatening conduct by another individual that could result in injury to a University employee, student, or visitor or the destruction of property, has a responsibility to immediately report the situation to his\/her immediate supervisor, manager, or department or divisional leadership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If an employee feels an immediate threat &#8211; Call University Police for immediate attention. University Police will help the employee determine the next steps and report to Leadership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Any information provided will be treated as important and appropriate action will be taken. If it is revealed that this policy has been violated, such conduct will be dealt with through disciplinary action, which may include but is not limited to, suspension or termination of employment of persons in violation of this policy.
