{"id":177,"date":"2017-11-13T14:47:00","date_gmt":"2017-11-13T14:47:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.stmarytx.edu\/policies\/?post_type=hrp&#038;p=177"},"modified":"2025-10-09T22:42:03","modified_gmt":"2025-10-09T22:42:03","slug":"student-employee-evaluation-guidelines","status":"publish","type":"human-resources","link":"https:\/\/www.stmarytx.edu\/policies\/human-resources\/student-employee-evaluation-guidelines\/","title":{"rendered":"Student Employee Evaluation Guidelines"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Evaluations are mandatory.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Student workers who do not receive an evaluation may lose their work-study eligibility.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Supervisors who do not turn in evaluations in a timely manner may have their work-study allocation reduced in part or all.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Evaluations not received by the designated deadline will be considered late. Late evaluations can affect work-study eligibility for the student and allocation of funds for the department.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Students scored between 50-74 points can be placed by their supervisor on a Performance Improvement Plan.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Work-study eligibility will not be affected the first time a student is placed on a performance improvement plan.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Supervisors will determine the time frame a student has for improvement. The recommended time frame is one semester.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Students scored below 50 points will become ineligible for work-study. Students who become ineligible due to low evaluation scores will lose their work-study for the immediate semester following their evaluation and all subsequent semesters.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Page 2 of the evaluation is for departmental records only. Please do not submit to Financial Assistance.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Notes and comments on evaluations will not be considered when determining work-study eligibility.
