{"id":279,"date":"2017-04-26T11:13:00","date_gmt":"2017-04-26T11:13:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.stmarytx.edu\/policies\/?post_type=athletp&#038;p=279"},"modified":"2025-07-09T17:52:31","modified_gmt":"2025-07-09T17:52:31","slug":"athletics-student-athletes-wellness","status":"publish","type":"athletics","link":"https:\/\/www.stmarytx.edu\/policies\/athletics\/athletics-student-athletes-wellness\/","title":{"rendered":"Athletics: Student-Athlete Wellness"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">General Student-Athlete Wellness Policies<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The wellness of St. Mary\u2019s student-athletes is monitored, evaluated, and addressed on a continuing basis.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Through constant communication and interaction with other departments on campus, the Athletics Department seeks to assist and enhance the student experience for student-athletes at St. Mary\u2019s University.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Athletics administration of St. Mary\u2019s University has an \u201copen door\u201d policy in which student-athletes should feel comfortable approaching any member of the staff to discuss an issue.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Team Meetings\/Annual Survey\/Senior Exit Interviews\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>At the conclusion of each sport\u2019s season, the Athletics Director and\/or Associate Athletics Director will conduct meetings with each team.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>During the team meetings, the student-athletes will be provided an annual survey in order to provide feedback about their experience as a student-athlete at St. Mary\u2019s University.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In addition to the survey, seniors that have exhausted their eligibility will have the opportunity to share any information with the administration about their experience at St. Mary\u2019s, during senior exit interviews.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>At the conclusion of the meetings, the Athletics Director and\/or Associate Athletics Director compiles the information gathered from the surveys and the meetings. This data is used to address concerns and areas for improvements either with the coaches, support staff, and\/or administration.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":0,"parent":0,"menu_order":0,"template":"","class_list":["post-279","athletics","type-athletics","status-publish","hentry"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.3 -
