The St. Mary’s University Music Department is proud to welcome acclaimed pianists Aldo and Judith Mancinelli for an afternoon recital this weekend.

The Mancinellis will perform selections from Mendelssohn, Debussy, Chopin and Beethoven on campus at Treadaway Recital Hall on Sunday, Oct. 5, 2014 at 3 p.m.

Aldo Mancinelli will also hold a Master Class at Treadaway Recital Hall on Saturday, Oct. 4, at 10 a.m. Several students from St. Mary’s and other San Antonio universities will have a rare opportunity to perform for Mancinelli and receive performance critiques from the pianist.

Both events are free and open to the public.

At age 11, Aldo Mancinelli became the first American to win the Busoni International Piano Competition, and he is a former recipient of two successive Fulbright scholarships. He also studied with Italian pianist and conductor Carlo Zecchi while pursuing his education at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome. Mancinelli has performed with orchestras as a guest soloist across the globe, including the San Antonio Symphony.

Judith Mancinelli is a piano recitalist who has served as an adjunct faculty member at Millikin University (Illinois).
