Dental Early Acceptance Program (DEAP)

DEAP is a joint program between the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio (UTHSCSA) and St. Mary’s University. The program allows students with academic excellence and a demonstrated interest in dentistry to receive early acceptance to the UTHSCSA Dental School. DEAP is a dual degree program where students complete three (3) years at St. Mary’s followed by completion of the professional program at UTHSCSA Dental School.

Graduates of the program will earn a B.A. Combined Sciences from St. Mary’s and a Doctor of Dental Science (D.D.S.) degree from UTHSCSA Dental School. DEAP provides a rigorous academic preparation for dental school, as well as academic enrichment and clinical experiences.

Facilitated Admissions for South Texas Scholars (FASTS) Program

FASTS is a joint program between the University of Texas School of Medicine at San Antonio and St. Mary’s University. The Program allows students with academic excellence and a demonstrated interest in medicine to receive early acceptance to the University of Texas School of Medicine at San Antonio (UTSOMSA).

Students will undergo rigorous academic preparation for medical school, as well as academic enrichment and clinical experiences provided through the Summer Premedical Academy at the School of Medicine and MCAT preparation.

Forensic/Analytic Toxicology Dual Degree

The Forensic Science – Forensic/Analytic Toxicology degree is a joint program between the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio (UTHSCSA) and St. Mary’s University. The program allows students with academic excellence and a demonstrated interest in forensic science and toxicology to complete two degrees in five years. Students in this program will complete three years at St. Mary’s, one year of dual courses at St. Mary’s and UTHSCSA, and a final year at UTHSCSA.

Graduates of the program will earn a B.S. Forensic Science from St. Mary’s and a M.S. – Forensic/Analytic Toxicology from UTHSCSA. The program provides a rigorous academic preparation for professional school, as well as academic enrichment, research, and clinical experiences.

The program allows students with academic excellence and a demonstrated interest in forensic science and genetics to complete two degrees in five years. Students in this program will complete three (3) years at St. Mary’s, one (1) year of dual courses at St. Mary’s and UTHSCSA, and a final year at UTHSCSA.

Graduates of the program will earn a B.S. Forensic Science from St. Mary’s and a M.S. – Forensic Genetics from UTHSCSA. The program provides a rigorous academic preparation for professional school, as well as academic enrichment, research, and clinical experiences.

Health Professions Early Acceptance Program (HEAP)

HEAP is a joint program between the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio (UTHSCSA) and St. Mary’s University. The program allows students with academic excellence and a demonstrated interest in physical therapy, occupational therapy, or physician’s assistant to receive early acceptance to the UTHSCSA School of Health Professions. HEAP is a 3+2 program where students complete three (3) years at St. Mary’s followed by two years at UTHSCSA.

Graduates of the program will earn a B.A. Combined Sciences from St. Mary’s and a professional degree from UTHSCSA. The program provides a rigorous academic preparation for professional school, as well as academic enrichment and clinical experiences.

Joint Admission Medical Program (JAMP)

The Joint Admission Medical Program (JAMP) is a special program created by the Texas Legislature to support and encourage highly qualified, economically disadvantaged students pursuing a medical education. Ted Macrini, Ph.D. is the JAMP Faculty Director at St. Mary’s University.

Nursing Early Acceptance Program (NEAP)

NEAP is a joint program between the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio (UTHSCSA) and St. Mary’s University. The program allows students with academic excellence and a demonstrated interest in nursing to receive early acceptance to the UTHSCSA School of Nursing. NEAP is a 3+2 program where students complete three years at St. Mary’s followed by two years at UTHSCSA.

Graduates of the program will earn a B.A. Combined Sciences from St. Mary’s and a B.S. in Nursing (BSN) from UTHSCSA. NEAP provides a rigorous academic preparation for nursing school, as well as academic enrichment and clinical experiences.
