We offer accredited master’s degrees in Community Counseling (under the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program) and accredited doctoral degrees in Counselor Education and Supervision.
The Department of Counseling and Human Services is located at 251 W. Ligustrum, just a few blocks from the St. Mary’s University campus (between Bandera Road and Woodlawn Avenue). If you are coming from the front of the campus on Camino Santa Maria, turn left onto Woodlawn Avenue, and then turn right onto W. Ligustrum. The Counselor Education and Family Life Center building will be on the left side of the street.
Through excellence in education, the mission of the Department of Counseling and Human Services is to prepare clinicians, educators, and researchers with the knowledge and skills needed to integrate Marianist values related to promoting justice, peace, and human dignity as they serve in an increasingly pluralistic, changing, and global society.
Our department has accreditation by the CACREP.
Our master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and our doctoral degree in Counselor Education and Supervision programs are accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP).
