Lt. Col. Tex William Soto was commissioned as a Quartermaster Officer through the Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) upon graduation from the University of Puerto Rico-Aguadilla Campus in 2002 and entered active duty.

His military education includes Quartermaster Officer Basic Course, Combined Logistics Captain’s Career Course (CLC3) and the Command and General Staff Officer Course (CGSOC). He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education and a Master of Arts Degree in Counseling with emphasis in Mental Health.

His previous assignments include:

  • Fort Bliss, Texas: 31st Air Defense Artillery (ADA) Brigade where he served as Brigade Transportation Officer, Company Executive Officer and Battalion S4
  • Iraq (Operation Iraqi Freedom): Military Transition Team Logistics Advisor (MiTT)
  • Fort Sam Houston, Texas: US Army South G4 Current Operations Officer and Munitions Branch Chief
  • Fort Bliss, Texas: 501st Brigade Support Battalion Company Commander and 2-29 Field Artillery Regiment (FAR) Rear Detachment Commander
  • Fort Dix, New Jersey: 2-309th Training Support Battalion (TSBn) and 1-315th Brigade Support Battalion (BSB) Executive Officer
  • Fort Bragg, North Carolina: 406th Army Field Support Brigade Logistics Support Team Chief (Forward- Operation Inherent Resolve) and 3rd Expeditionary Sustainment Command (3rd ESC)- Transportation Branch Chief and Materiel Management Branch Chief
  • San Antonio, Texas: Professor of Military Science (U.S. Army Cadet Command)

Soto is married to the former Ivelisse Ramos Mendez of Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, and they have two children, Dylan and Milanis. Soto is also the recipient of the Prestigious Order of Saint Barbara and the Honorable Order of Saint Martin.
