Chris Flores has worked as a Management and Operations consultant for over 15 years supporting large companies like Booz Allen Hamilton, the Air Force, the Army, and recently H-E-B, Inc. (as an internal consultant).

With Booz Allen Hamilton, Flores managed a portfolio of work aimed at supporting Headquarters (HQ) Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) activities at 40 closed military installations. The work was as diverse as the base locations, with staff augmentation and consulting projects in the areas of long-term strategy development, budget efficiencies, environmental cleanup, real estate, Congressional Reporting, business process re-engineering (BPR) and talent development.

His consulting support to the Army primarily covered BPR support to find business and process efficiencies in the Army’s Compatible Use Buffer (ACUB) zones that serve to protect the base from encroachment and light pollution, and private homes and businesses from base operations. As this work unfolded, Flores realized the need for enhanced training and developed the program’s first training game to reinforce the processes, policies, and strategies that govern the ACUB program.

Since 2018, Flores has been working for one of the largest private grocery companies in the United States. At $30B in sales per year, H-E-B rivals USAA and dwarfs the global consulting firm, Booz Allen Hamilton ($6.7B as of 2019). Recognizing the need for increasing support from external consultants, and the risk of providing these consultants access to proprietary data, H-E-B asked Flores to start an internal consulting group to address corporate efficiencies. To date, his team has a growing portfolio of 25 active projects.
