Undergraduate & Graduate

Law Ceremony

Although our community cannot be together at this time, we still want to celebrate this momentous milestone with our Spring 2020 graduates and their families through a number of initiatives. Graduates are invited to join in to a virtual graduation ceremony on Saturday, May 9, starting at 1:30 p.m.

Degrees will be virtually conferred by President Thomas M. Mengler, J.D., and graduates will hear words of inspiration from our scheduled Commencement speaker, Jennifer Robbins (B.A. ’03), and prayers of support from the Rev. Timothy Eden, S.M., Rector and Vice President for Mission.

Commencement Regalia

The University is partnering with Balfour to purchase caps and gowns for Spring 2020 graduates and mail them directly. Due to COVID-19, delivery dates are currently unknown, but we will update students when more information becomes available.

Once regalia is received, graduates are encouraged to share their cap and gown photo on social media and tag us at @stmarysu with the hashtag #StMUGrad2020.

Spring 2020 graduates are also invited to walk the stage in their regalia at the Fall 2020 or Spring 2021 ceremonies.

Diplomas will be mailed by mid-June to all graduates who successfully fulfill degree requirements, along with a commemorative program listing all Spring 2020 St. Mary’s University graduates and their degrees and honors.

Graduate Photos

Graduates who submitted photos will be included in the virtual graduation ceremony, featuring images with classmates, friends, professors or favorite St. Mary’s moments.
