The San Antonio Economic Development Foundation (SAEDF) ended its nationwide search for a new president and CEO, and selected San Antonio native Jenna Saucedo-Herrera.

Saucedo-Herrera (B.B.A. ’09), formerly CPS Energy’s vice president for public affairs and brand management, was introduced as SAEDF’s new leader on Tuesday, June 28. Her commitment to economic development and exceptional leadership qualified her for the role.

“The past few days have been surreal, but I’ve been overwhelmed by support from our community,” Saucedo-Herrera said. “This decision is so much bigger than me. It’s a new day for San Antonio, and our next generation of leaders.”

The Greehey School of Business alumna, formerly the youngest vice president in the history of CPS Energy, continues to rise and set records as she is the first woman to lead the organization.

“I am humbled by the opportunity to serve the San Antonio community in this capacity, and I look forward to directly contributing to the upward trajectory of our great city,” she said.  “San Antonio offers a unique combination of rich culture and contemporary innovation that is fueling our next generation of success. I’m energized by the momentum that’s been established by my predecessor, Mario Hernandez and other community leaders, and plan to align and leverage our collective community efforts to achieve our bold ambitions.”

Last year, the 29-year-old was recognized by the Business Journal as one of the 2015 Women’s Leadership Award winners.
