Breann Alexander, a 5-7 senior outside hitter for St. Mary’s University (18-12), has been named the AVCA/Sports Imports Division II National Player of the Week. Alexander led the Rattlers to sweeps of Texas A&M-Kingsville and Heartland Conference foe Incarnate Word. She tallied 39 kills in six games for a 6.50 per game average. Alexander pounded 23 kills against UIW and hit .512 behind two errors on 41 swings, helping the Rattlers to solidify the third seed in the upcoming Heartland Conference Tournament. She tallied 16 kills in the win over Kingsville, while hitting at a .314 clip (16-5-35). Alexander had back-to-back outings with 17 digs for a 2.83 weekly average. In the two matches she hit .421 (39-7-76) and added two blocks and one service ace.
