The St. Mary’s Softball team will play for the NCAA Division II National
Title on Monday, May 20, at Noon — 11:00 am San Antonio-time.

The Rattlers won their first four games of the D-II Softball National
Championships, being held in Salem, Virginia, but fell on Sunday in the
first of two-possible championship games.

On Thursday, St. Mary’s defeated Le Moyne 8-1 and went on to beat
Bloomsburg 2-0 on Friday. On Saturday the Rattlers beat Grand Valley State
8-0. On Sunday afternoon St. Mary’s moved into the finals with a 1-0 win
over Chico State. On Sunday evening the Rattlers again met the Grand Valley
State Lakers, but this time St. Mary’s fell short — losing 0-1 in extra
innings. St. Mary’s and Grand Valley State will meet again on Monday in the
“winner take all” final game of the double elimination championship.
