St. Mary’s University is expecting an enrollment of 660 freshmen for the
fall 2002
semester, the largest in the school’s 150-year history. The new students
will receive a
wireless capable Dell notebook computer, making St. Mary’s the first
undergraduate
university in San Antonio to have a Dell University Honors program.

Freshmen will begin receiving the new Dell notebooks beginning Friday, Aug. 16,
and continuing throughout the weekend. Overall, some 1,200 students,
including freshmen,
transfers and juniors, will participate in the notebook computer program,
now in its
third year. St. Mary’s was the first university in South Texas to offer
notebook computers.

Classes begin Tuesday, Aug. 20.
