Hart’s new book, a University of California Press publication, is a chronicle of the economic and social connections between the U.S. and Mexico since the Civil War to today. Manifest Destiny, the Mexican Revolution, World War II and NAFTA are important story elements, but Hart’s narrative transcends them for economic and political drama, resonating with the themes of wealth and power. His previous books include “Revolutionary Mexico: The Coming and Process of the Mexican Revolution.”

St. Mary’s University Bookstore will have copies of “Empire and Revolution” available for purchase and to be signed by the author after his
presentation.
