The University Center is a multipurpose facility. It provides primary dining services to the University through the dining hall and snack bar (a Subway Sandwich Shop is located elsewhere on campus), meeting and conference rooms accommodating 12 to 500 people, a student lounge, student organization and administrative offices, the University Bookstore and more. The Atrium -- in the two story main lobby of the University Center, graceful hanging mobiles by Brother Cletus Behlmann, S. M., create a modern and colorful atmosphere. Most artwork in the University Center was especially created for the Center by Brother Cletus, St. Mary's artist-in-residence. Due to its popularity, the University Center experiences near 100 percent occupancy throughout the year. University community members and others wishing to utilize the University Center are invited and encouraged to reserve facilities early.
