Campus Recreation
What does this office provide?
The Department of Campus Recreation coordinates many programs for the St. Mary's community, including intramural sports,
wellness and fitness programs, sport clubs, informal open recreation, special events,
and equipment check out.
Our primary goal is to enhance the quality of life on campus for the students, faculty, and
staff by providing a diverse range of programs and facilities to meet your recreational needs.
How can I use these services?
Campus Recreation offers a wide variety of fit classes which may include Zumba, TRX, Cardio Kickboxing, Insanity, Yoga,
Awesome Abs, Water Aerobics.
We have a fitness specialist in the fit center most evenings
to assist you with proper technique and solutions to assist you in your workouts.

Civic Engagement and Career Development
What does this office provide?
The Civic Engagement and Career Development Center provides opportunities for students and alumni to explore , network and
identify personal, career, and life directions through assessment, advising, programs, and events.
The Center coordinates activities throughout the year that provide civic engagement opportunities for the St. Mary's community.
Such activities call students to involvement in and service to our community and society at-large.

We encourage one-on-one appointments with Career Advisors to discuss major and career path options, job, internship or

Dean of Students
What does this office provide?
The Dean of Students Office is the central part of support services for students outside of the classroom. It also
works closely with the Judicial Affair process making sure that the St. Mary s community continues to have a positive living and
learning environment.
The Dean of Students is part of the Student Life team that consists of multliple offices that work together to develop a comprehensive array of programs, services, activities, and
events that ease a students pursuit of academic achievement and personal growth.

International Student and Scholar Services
What does this office provide?
The International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) serves to provide international students and scholars with advice,
information and referrals on matters such as immigration, employment, and overseas travel.
ISSS also assists students with culture shock and provides information on practical matters related to attending St. Mary s
University and living in San Antonio.
How can I use these services?
If you are an international student, it is our job to help you navigate your transition to life as a student in the United States and here at St. Mary s University.
Throughout your studies at St. Mary's University, we are available to answer your questions about immigration issues, host cultural and social events, and refer you to the appropriate campus and government offices when you need services outside our support.

Leadership Programs
Leadership Programming at St. Mary's will help you meet your leadership
development goals through Emerging Leaders and The LeaderShape
Institute. Whether you are new leader wanting to develop your leadership
potential or you are ready to take your leadership and define your vision for
the future, we are here to support your growth through mentorship.
The Emerging Leaders program is a 6 - 8 week program for freshmen
and sophomores featuring leadership topics that will help students explore
and discover skills and habits that will prepare them for future leadership
opportunities.
The LeaderShape Institute is an interactive, energizing, and unique
experience that builds leadership skills no other program can match! St. Mary's
hosts the Institute on campus for one week in the spring semester.

Consistent with the mission of St. Mary's University, ND 0101: Personal and
Academic Development is a course for first-year students designed to provide
foundation that will assist them in deriving maximum benefit from their
undergraduate experience by facilitating the transition from high school or
another institution to college.

Rattler Weekends provides programs and events for students to participate

The Registered Student Organization office works with 100 student organizations

Student Health Center
What does this office provide?
The Student Health Center serves to provide high quality primary health care services that are efficient, timely and cost-effective.
We try to provide the best serves to enrolled students at St. Mary's University, in order to minimize the academic interruptions that students
may experience from an illness or injury.
The Student Health Center physicians and staff offer services that are nondiscriminatory
and nonjudgmental. Significant importance is placed in respecting the rights to privacy and confidentiality of each patient.

Student Psychological and Testing Services
What does this office provide?
Student Psychological and Testing Services (SPTS) supports the development of the whole person through emotional, relational and
academic support by providing counseling and mental health services, services to students with disabilities and testing services to the University community.
How can I use these services?
Counseling professionals are available for scheduled appointments to provide any of the following services.
The student psychological services include psychotherapy, counseling, psychiatric services, crisis
intervention, consultations and outreach to the student community to support their emotional, relational and academic development.
Disability services include helping students to obtain needed accommodations while supporting their needs.
Testing services include placement testing, credit by exam, graduate and professional school testing and
many certification and licensure exams to the students and the community at large.
