Dear Rattlers,

A hallmark of a Marianist University education is the personal attention to each individual. At St. Mary's University, the focus is on you, and how you develop and use your talents, skills and experiences inside and outside of the classroom as you discern your vocation.

As members of this Marianist learning community we work together to create a more caring, respectful and productive community of student learners and leaders. You will have many opportunities to explore your faith and values, become engaged academically, civically and in campus life, and deepen your awareness and appreciation of other faiths and cultures. I encourage you to take advantage of as many of these opportunities as possible, but remember to maintain a healthy balance of attention to your mind, spirit and body. Along these lines, throughout your St. Mary's experience, you will have access to a support system that can help you meet, and exceed, your own expectations. Some of these support services are available to you directly through the Office of Student Life and the Dean of Students. They include, but are not limited to student advocacy, educational programming, getting involved on campus, and the student conduct process.

I invite you to contact the Dean of Students Office by phone, email or dropping by the Office of Student Life on the 2nd floor of the University Center to say "Hello!" and share the highlights of your St. Mary s experience, seek advice or present any concerns. There are also multiple resources available on this website to assist you and your peers. You are responsible for familiarizing yourself with these resources, policies and procedures so that you know when and how to appropriately utilize them.

It is my hope that your St. Mary's experience is blessed with challenging and invigorating academic and co-curricular experiences, healthy and strong relationships, a deepening of your faith, and increasing clarity of your life's vocation. I look forward to seeing you around campus!

Go Rattlers and best wishes for a great year!
