How It All Began
The Service Learning Center Today

Today, the Service Learning Center continues to offer services and programs designed to connect you with community partners matching your personal and career interests within the non-profit industry.

In 2006-07, St. Mary's students, faculty, and staff provided over 35,000 hours of service to the community. In 2007-08, they contributed over 72,000 hours of service. In 2008-09, the university community provided well over 120,000 hours of service to the surrounding area! More than 70 percent of our students participate in community service.

St. Mary's University was named by The Princeton Review and Campus Compact as one of the "Top 100 Colleges with a Conscience." We also have the distinction of being named a "College that Builds Character" by the John Templeton Foundation. We were also recognized in 2007 and 2008 for The President's Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll.
