Information Technology Symposium

Purpose and Origin

The Computer Science Department and its professors host the I.T. (Information Technology) Symposium at the end of the Fall and Spring semesters. Originally titled in 2004 "Geek Gathering", the evening has developed into a forum for and expression of the accomplishments of St. Mary's upper-level Computer Science majors and graduate students. An individual student's or student-group's research or software products are presented during the I.T. Symposium for that particular semester.

The students and groups also are competing for the best in their class research or product area. Their posters and presentations are judged by I.T. professionals from the San Antonio community. The top student or group of each class/software division is awarded a cord that they may wear when they graduate.
