ROTC News from St. Mary's University
Army Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) is more than a college program. It's a tradition. ROTC has been offered to young men at St. Mary's since 1932 and to young women since 1973. ROTC will enhance your education at St. Mary's by combining unique training and management experience with opportunities for scholarship funds and stimulating personal development. ROTC Cadets build for the future by earning their St. Mary's degree and their Officer's commission.
The ROTC curriculum enriches the St. Mary's experience by teaching leadership development and military history. Upon successful completion of the ROTC program, "the special trust and confidence of the President of the United States" is bestowed on each newly commissioned officer.
During the past 64 years, St. Mary's ROTC has commissioned nearly 1,400 officers, many of whom have reached the highest ranks in military services or achieved great success in civilian endeavors.
The Rattler Battalion ROTC at St. Mary's University offers great opportunities for students who want challenge, a chance to travel, financial assistance for their education, and a rewarding job upon graduation.
