Rosalind V. Alderman, Ph.D.
Assistant Vice President for Retention Management
Rosalind V. Alderman, Ph.D., a veteran staff member of St. Mary's University, has been working with students, parents, faculty and staff at St. Mary's for over 18 years. Her education and experience has helped her to create the Office of Student Retention and to make it a resource for all members of the St. Mary's community. She is passionate about issues related to student success, in particular, retention and graduation.
In addition to leading the Office of Student Retention, Ms. Alderman has presented nationally on issues related to the first-year experience, assessment, student learning outcomes and strategic planning. She served as one of founding advisers for the Freshman Honor Society, Phi Eta Sigma, and serves as the treasurer of the national board for Gamma Sigma Alpha, the national Greek honorary. Ms. Alderman is also an active member of NASPA, Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education and ACPA.
Ms. Alderman graduated with a bachelor's degree from West Texas A&M University
and earned a Master of Arts degree in College Student Personnel from Bowling Green State
University in Ohio. Most recently, she received her doctoral degree in Educational Administration
from Texas A&M University in College Station. Her dissertation topic explored faculty and
student interaction outside of the classroom. Ms. Alderman is also a graduate of the 35th Summer
Seminar on Academic Administration, a program from Texas A&M University.

Leticia Hart
Coordinator for Retention Services
Leticia Hart brings more than 10 years of experience working with college students to the Office of Student Retention (OSR). Before joining the OSR team, she worked with St. Mary's students and alumni as the Career Development Specialist in the Civic Engagement and Career Development Center. Ms. Hart also has experience providing direct advising and support services to first-generation, low-income college students and students with disabilities during her time working with the TRiO Student Support Services program at the University of the Incarnate Word. She also managed a peer tutoring and mentoring program, as well as developed programming to assist students in transitioning into college and persisting toward completion of an undergraduate degree.
Ms. Hart is from San Antonio and is a proud graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Saint Mary's College in South Bend, Ind., and her Master of Education in Adult Education from the University of the Incarnate Word.
