Fall 2009 Registration Information
New student Orientation (New, transfer and evening studies students are required to attend this orientation program.):
St. Mary's University believes that parent and guest involvement is an important part of the orientation process. Sign-Up for parents and guests is a part of the online Sign-Up process on Gateway , completed by the student. Each student can bring 2 guests to New Student Orientation at no additional cost. There will be a fee for each additional guest.
Check-in will take place on the 2nd floor of the University Center. Parking Lot T in front of Alumni Athletics & Convocation Center (AA&CC) will be free for the Orientation Program.
August 2009 Transfer II Orientation - Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2009
This program begins at 8 a.m. and concludes late afternoon after advising and registration.
August 2009 Freshmen Student Orientation - August 13-14, 2009 (Thursday-Friday)
This program begins promptly at 9 a.m., Thursday, August 13, and concludes at 3 p.m. on Friday, August 14.

Enrolled students (Students who priority registered in Fall 2008 or new students who registered in May or June):
- Gateway remains open through the 1st week of class (August 24) for any schedule changes. This includes dropping and adding courses (provided that they are open).
- You may view your bill via Gateway for up-to-date information on your Fall tuition charges.
Returning students (Fall 2008 Undergraduate students who did not priority register)/Readmitted students:
- Registration (via Gateway) will be available beginning at 8 a.m. on Monday, August 17.
- Students who register after classes have begun will be charge a $150.00 late registration fee. An additional $150.00 late payment will be assessed, if payment or payment arrangements are not submitted the day of registration. NO NEW REGISTRATIONS WILL BE PERMITTED AFTER THE 5TH DAY OF CLASSES.
- Use your registration pin number that you obtained from your academic adviser in the Spring semester.
- If you did not meet with your academic adviser, please contact them for an appointment to obtain academic advising and to receive your registration pin number.
- If you are not planning to return to St. Mary's University, please refer to the withdraw process located on the Registrar’s Office website at http://www.stmarytx.edu/registrar/?go=advi or contact the Registrar’s Office at 210-436-3701 for information.
Graduate/PhD students:

Graduating Fall 2009:
Undergraduate/Graduate/PhD students planning to graduation Fall 2009 must complete an application for degree card through the student's academic adviser or program director and in the Registrar's Office, St. Louis Hall 105 by August 24.
Cancelled classes:
Courses with low enrollment are subject to cancellation. St. Mary's University makes every effort to determine course cancellation in advance by the first day of classes, but the final status of cancelled course may not be resolved until the first day of classes, or shortly thereafter.
Students will be notified by phone and/or e-mail when a course is cancelled.

August 19 Gateway closes for any registration activities. Deadline to submit "Application for Degre" card for those graduating Fall 2009.

August 25 Begin $10 fee per add/drop slip
Note from the Business Office:
- Deadline to confirm your payment arrangements – August 15.
- To add a book charge or if you are making monthly payments on your balance, please submit a “Payment Confirmation Form” to the Business Office.
- For more information regarding the bookstore charge, payments or your bill, please contact the Business Office at businessoffice@stmarytx.edu or visit them in St. Louis Hall, room 24.
**Students who register after classes have begun will be charged a $150 late registration fee.
