Prospective Students of St. Mary's University

St. Mary's University, founded in 1852 by Marianist (Society of Mary) brothers and priests, is the oldest university in San Antonio, and the oldest Catholic university in Texas and the Southwest.

Charles L. Cotrell, Ph.D., the University's 12th president and the first lay Marianist to take the helm, has served as chief executive since 2000.

St. Mary's 135-acre campus northwest of downtown San Antonio is home to five schools: Bill Greehey School of Business; Humanities and Social Sciences; Science, Engineering and Technology; Graduate and Law.

St. Mary's students receive personal attention from some 200 full-time faculty members, 94 percent of whom have terminal degrees, and learn from powerful programs in 44 different areas, in addition to pre-professional programs in medicine, nursing, dentistry, pharmacy, allied health and law.
