Dean's List
To earn the honor of being on the Dean's List at St. Mary's, different criteria apply to the different schools of the University.
Eligibility
To be eligible for the Dean's List in the Schools of Humanities and Social Sciences; Science, Engineering and Technology; and Business and Administration, students must be on full-time status (12 earned hours) and earned a grade point average of 3.60 and above. The Dean's List for these Schools consists of three categories: Highest Honors, student must earn a grade point average of 3.90 to 4.00; High Honors, a student must earn a grade point average of 3.80 to 3.89; Honors, a student must earn a grade point average of 3.60 to 3.79.
Graduate School
Graduate School students who rank in the top ten percent of their area of study scholastically, have accumulated eight hours of graduate study with a minimum semester and cumulative grade point average of 3.9, and were enrolled in at least six hours , and did not have an Incomplete (IC) at the time of consideration are selected for the Dean's List.
Preparation
The Dean's List is prepared after the deadline for changing incomplete grades (IC) to letter grades is complete.
Publishing
The Fall Dean's List honoring those students from the spring semester is published in the Rattler in October.
The Spring Dean's List honoring those students from the fall semester is published in March.
Students who are named to The Dean's List may request a certificate in their respective Dean's Office.
