Academic Convocation

The Academic Convocation is intended to introduce new students to the traditions and expectations of our academic community the day before classes begin. This program is designed to be an important part of developing in our new students an initial sense of belonging to the institution. Later in the morning, faculty assembled in schools or departments have the opportunity to meet and have lunch with new student majors. The Academic Convocation is intended to advance the centrality of academic life in the St. Mary’s experience.

The Academic Convocation occurs on the day prior to the start of class for the fall semester.
