Tuesday, October 25 - Thursday, October 27
For a decade the United States has been at war—longer than any other time in our national history. In response to terrorist attacks on September 11, we sent military forces to Afghanistan and later to Iraq. Thousands of our enlisted military men and women have been killed; tens of thousands have sustained a range of injuries: some disfiguring, some mentally disabling, and many that require intensive rehabilitation. Multiple and long deployments have stressed not only our service men and women, but also their families. Additionally, tens of thousands of Iraqi and Afghanistan citizens have died, been injured or displaced. These wars have cost us billions of dollars, and may have contributed to our current economic crisis. And, these wars are not yet over. How do we assess the human, economic, political and moral impact of these wars? How do we measure the costs as well as the gains?.
All events are free and open to the public.
