Considered a rebel during the French Revolution, Blessed William Joseph Chaminade defied. Risking life imprisonment and even death, Blessed Chaminade became an enemy of the state, choosing to stay in France and serve the needs of the people rather than flee his own persecution.
Today, the legacy and spirit of Chaminade lives on through the selfless efforts of Marianists, professed and lay, as well as other groups and individuals whose work reflects the Marianist charism and a commitment to justice and peace around the world. Working through a myriad of populations and expanse of issue from education to health, environment to economics, and the young to the young at heart, communities around the globe strive to achieve equality for the most marginalized in society.
All events are free and open to the public.
