Mid-Year Orientation
Friday, January 8th, 2010

Welcome to St. Mary's University! As a new student, you may have many questions about the University and your academic future. To assist you with these questions, St. Mary's University offers all new students a comprehensive orientation program.

Schedule
Check-in for the orientation program will take place on Friday, January 8th from 7:30-9:00a.m. on the 2nd floor of the University Center. Student Check-in takes approximately thirty minutes.
For students who need to take the COMPASS test, please arrive promptly at 7:30am.
If you do not need to take the COMPASS test, but would like a degree audit, please check-in between 8:00 am and 8:30am. Please check back soon to take a look at our tentative schedule and orientation student checklist.

By participating in the Mid-Year Orientation 2010 Program you will:
  • Meet other new students
  • Meet with an academic adviser and discuss courses and major(s)
  • Complete academic advising and registration for classes
  • Meet current students who will share their experiences
  • Learn about academic expectations, performance policies and career opportunities
  • Participate in discussions on student activities and organizations, your college education, financing, and housing options
  • Learn how to access the University's services and resources
Academic Advising
Please read the Advising Guide before you attend New Student Orientation. It contains important information about degree requirements, the Core Curriculum and majors available. If you have questions about the Advising Guide, please jot them down and bring them with you to Orientation. During the orientation program, you will have the opportunity to meet with faculty, staff, and students that can answer your questions.
Important Documents
Please bring any transcripts, CLEP Exam scores, or AP Exam scores that have not already been submitted to the Office of Undergraduate Admission. You can turn in any of your important documents to the University Center, Information Desk at anytime during the program.

Parking
Parking is available in Parking Lot T in front of the AACC (Alumni Athletics & Convocation Center).

Health Center
Please remember to bring your health record information with you if you have not already sent it in, you can turn it into the University Center, Information Desk at anytime during the program.
