Rattler Volleyball Sweeps Conference Awards

Three Rattler volleyball players have been recognized as the Heartland Conference hitter, setter, and defensive Players of the Week. The Rattlers are coming off of an undefeated showing at the Heartland/Lone Star Challenge this past weekend.

Sophomore Maegan Lowry was recognized as hitter of the week after compiling 48 kills in 14 games. In the five-game victory over Central Oklahoma, Lowry collected 16 kills.

Katy Migl, a senior from O’Connor High School, garnered conference recognition as the defensive standout for the second straight week. Migl’s statistical highlights for the week include 69 digs, six aces, six assists and two kills. In the match against Central Oklahoma, she had a game-high 32 digs.

Courtney Matula, a sophomore from Madison High School, has been honored as the conference setter of the week. Matula directed the team’s offensive attack for 172 assists on the week, including 58 against Central Oklahoma.

The Rattlers will travel to Montana State-Billings for their two-game series. Action starts at 7:00 p.m. Friday and concludes at 2:00 p.m. Saturday.
