The St. Mary’s University Department of Music will hold the Opera Workshop’s Second Annual ‘A Night in Little Italy,’ a fundraiser featuring singing waiters and an Italian dinner.

Alumnus Ed Speed (B.B.A. ’70, M.A. ’86) and his wife, Linda, have given another significant gift to St. Mary’s University to support scholarship that advances Catholic social teaching, human rights, social justice and peace building.
They have given a gift of $137,500 to establish the Edward and Linda Speed Peace and Justice Fellows Program in the School of Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS). The funding will support annual fellowships for faculty research and presentations that includes publishing and/or creating works that address peace and justice issues. In addition, the funding will support an undergraduate research student assistant to work with the faculty fellow.

Elizabeth Dalton, a long-time UTSA administrator, has been named the next Athletics Director for St. Mary’s University, effective Feb. 11.
Dalton, who has been with the UTSA Athletics Department for 12 years, is currently UTSA’s Deputy Athletics Director and Senior Woman Administrator. Before joining UTSA, she managed the administrative aspects of recruiting and football operations for the University of Notre Dame. Dalton holds both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree from Texas A&M University, where she played soccer as a student-athlete.
