ST. MARY´S PHYSICS STUDENTS TO PRESENT ´FIESTA OF PHYSICS´ FRIDAY AFTERNOON AT PROVIDENCE HIGH SCHOOL

WHO: St. Mary’s University Society of Physics Students presents

WHAT: “Fiesta of Physics,” an interactive physics show, including demonstrations and hands-on experiments for elementary, middle school and high school students in the San Antonio area.

WHEN: FRIDAY, April 16

* 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Field Trip session.

Participants include St. Paul’s School, St. John the Evangelist School, Winston Elementary and St. John Berchmans School.

* 3:30 to 6 p.m. General Public session.

Among those invited, Neff Middle School, St. Luke’s Catholic School, Little Flower Catholic School, Alamo Heights Middle School, Carver Academy, Loma Park Elementary and Medina Valley High School.

WHERE: Providence High School gymnasium, 1215 N. St. Mary’s Street.

OF INTEREST: Sponsored by Youth Service America and State Farm Insurance as part of National Youth Service Day.

Sara Reinhard, a junior biology major at St. Mary’s University, was awarded a $1,000 grant from State Farm Insurance to fund an innovative service project for National Youth Service Day. The “Fiesta of Physics” is her brainchild.
