Spring Commencement Features 522 Graduates

St. Mary’s University celebrated the accomplishments of 522 new graduates during the 161st Spring Commencement Exercises on Saturday, May 11, in Bill Greehey Arena of the Alumni Athletics & Convocation Center on the University campus.

St. Mary's Law Commencement Set
St. Mary’s University School of Law will hold its 79th commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 18 in the St. Mary's University Alumni Athletics & Convocation Center’s Bill Greehey Arena. John M. Vaught, partner in Denver’s Wheeler, Trigg, O’Donnell L.L.P., is slated to deliver the keynote address. 295 law students have met the graduation requirements to walk the stage on Saturday, including 14 earning masters of law degrees.

St. Mary’s Celebrates 51st Fiesta Jazz Festival
The Fiesta World Class Jazz Concert begins at 6 p.m. Friday with Ulterior Motive. Award-winning trumpeter and composer Hannibal Lokumbe, who has played with greats such as Thelonious Monk and Duke Ellington, will perform with the Audra Menconi Trio at 7 p.m. Acclaimed jazz trombonist Bill Watrous and The Prime Time Jazz Orchestra take the stage at 8:30.

Students Lauded for International Business Plans
Two Bill Greehey School of Business students took first-place honors in the undergraduate category Saturday at the fourth annual International Business Plan Program sponsored by the Free Trade Alliance, and five more competed for the second-place team.
