Developing Faith in the Community

University Ministry serves the St. Mary's community in Catholic and Marianist traditions by encouraging and promoting personal development, growth in the community, lived-faith values, leadership, and service to the University and our world. We are professional ministers committed to, and passionate about, engaging St. Mary's in servant leadership, and to live a vibrant and faith-filled witness of the Marianist charisms in our world.

Getting Involved

You don't have to wait for a big event to get involved with University Ministry, or to enhance your faith life. Consider:

The Bridge

The Bridge is a Christian ecumenical praise and worship night, which consists of song, Word, and reflection offered by a local Episcopalian priest. This event is offered every Wednesday at 9:30 p.m. in the Reinbolt Hall Theatre.

Marianist Lay Communities

These small communities of six to eight people gather once a week to discuss Scripture in relation to the events going on in their lives. It is an excellent way to establish a community of support here at St. Mary's.

Not Catholic?

University Ministry supports the faith journey of all students, faculty and staff regardless of faith tradition. An interfaith prayer room is available for students to use for prayer or quiet meditation. This room can be reserved by contacting the University Ministry office. We welcome ideas of how to improve our interfaith collaboration on campus.

Student Involvement
More than 10 percent of the undergraduate student population attend retreats providing over 6,000 hours to spiritual formation.

Daily Scripture

Colossians 3:12-14
Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassion, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony.
