The McNair Scholars Program is designed to help students who are members of groups underrepresented in graduate education gain access to post-baccalaureate study and achieve terminal degrees.  In order to accomplish these goals, the program strives to meet the following four objectives:

1)  McNair Scholars will complete research and scholarly activities each academic year that directly impact their educational progress.

2)  McNair Scholars will attain their baccalaureate degree within three years of entry into the program.

3)  McNair Scholars will enroll in post-baccalaureate studies immediately following completion of the baccalaureate degree.

4)  Finally, McNair Scholars will attain the doctoral degree.

The various requirements and opportunities offered by the program focus on helping scholars gain the skills needed to meet these four objectives.
