The University—an independent, coeducational Catholic university administered by the Marianists.

The Law School—the only private, coeducational Catholic law school in the state of Texas. It was founded in 1927 by the San Antonio Bar Association and became known as St. Mary’s University School of Law in 1934.

The Location—San Antonio, Texas, the eighth largest U.S. city, is known for its excellent quality of life and its fascinating blend of history, culture, and progress. San Antonio offers a robust economy; a strong, legal job market; and ties to Mexico and international business.

The Faculty—43 full-time faculty known for teaching, scholarship, public service, and an open-door policy; also 30 adjunct professors and distinguished visiting professors.

Clinical Legal Experiences—clinical legal education offered with concentrations in civil justice, criminal justice and human rights/immigration.

Study Abroad—an internationally known summer program on international and comparative law, called the Institute for World Legal Problems, held annually at the University of Innsbruck in Austria.

Joint Degrees—seven joint degree programs; a J.D. and a master’s degree in: Business Administration, Communication Studies, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, International Relations with a concentration in Justice Administration, Public Administration, and Theology.

LL.M. Degrees—in American Legal Studies and another in International Comparative Law.

Opportunities—multiple student organizations as well as trial advocacy competitions, judicial and private practice internships, law journals, clinical program offerings, the Public Interest Law Program, the Center of International Legal Studies and the Center for Terrorism Law.

Law Center and Campus—as a part of the suburban St. Mary’s campus, the Law Center promotes its five distinct buildings as a campus within a campus.

Financial Aid—more than 89 percent of St. Mary’s law students receive financial aid in the form of merit scholarships, federal and private loans, work-study, and grants.

Housing—law school student housing available on campus adjacent to the law center and extremely affordable off-campus apartments nearby.
