Borrowing

The Sarita Kenedy East Law Library offers interlibrary loan services to the faculty, students, and staff of the St. Mary's University School of Law. These services provide access to research items not found in the Law Library's collection. Turnaround time for requests is approximately ten working days for most items. Rare items may take longer. There is no Law Library charge for this service for members of the Law School community.

Public Patrons cannot avail themselves of interlibrary loan service. Members of the TexShare Card Program from other institutions cannot use the Law Library's interlibrary loan services. They must use their institution's services.

Please have complete and accurate information ready to make your request. In addition, the Blume Academic Library may hold items not in the Law Library's collection. Please check the online catalog for availability. Items available at the Blume Library will not be requested through ILL. The Law Library does not have an interlibrary loan agreement with the Academic Library.

Lending

The Sarita Kenedy East Law Library provides loans and photcopies of library materials to outside institutions. Interlibrary loan requests must be complete and accurate at the time of the request. The Law Library does not perform research for borrowing institutions.

The Law Library lends materials and provides photocopies of materials to libraries outside the St. Mary's University at the following rates:

Charges for photocopies or item loans to Amigos and OCLC interlibrary loan consortium members, as well as other academic and law libraries, are set out in our OCLC and Amigos profiles.

Services Charges for Other Institutions:

$25.00 per citation if 50 pages or less
$40 per citation if 51-100 pages
$100 per citation if 100 pages or more

The Law Library accepts interlibrary loan requests by fax, e-mail, OCLC (SNL) or in person.
