The Center for International Legal Studies

With the passage of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) and the establishment of the North American Development Bank in San Antonio, the city is fast becoming an important center of international trade and commerce. Our proximity to Mexico and Latin America makes it possible for St. Mary's to develop relationships with foreign universities and conduct public service outreach in the Mexico-U.S. border area.

St. Mary's University School of Law has a strong commitment to providing its students with an understanding of global issues and the role which law can play in their peaceful resolution. Through course offerings, overseas programs, faculty and student exchanges and other activities, the Law School offers extensive exposure to comparative and international law. In particular, the Law School's program responds to the growing interest in international business and trade.The law school has attracted visiting scholars and LL.M. graduate students from around the world.
