Professor Schlueter joined the St. Mary's faculty in 1983. While at St. Mary's, he has taught courses in:

  • He has authored, co-authored, or edited nine books on evidence and criminal procedure and a number of law review articles. His writings have been cited over 750 times by the federal and state courts (including the Supreme Court of the United States) and other legal commentators.
  • His writings include: TEXAS RULES OF EVIDENCE MANUAL (5th ed. 1998) (with Wendorf and Barton); FEDERAL EVIDENCE TACTICS (1998) (with Imwinkelried) and MILITARY CRIMINAL JUSTICE: PRACTICE AND PROCEDURE (6th ed., 2004)
