Before St. Mary's

Professor Reamey joined the faculty in 1982, following several years in private practice. He previously was the Legal Advisor for the Police Department of the City of Irving, Texas; Chair of the Texas Association of Police Attorneys; and an Adjunct Professor of Management at the Graduate School of Management of the University of Dalls (1977-1982).

Specialties:

Professor Reamey teaches primarily in the area of criminal law and procedure, but has also taught courses in constitutional law, international human rights, jurisprudence, and domestic relations, and has served as a supervising attorney in the St. Mary's clinical program.

Publications:

  • Author of Criminal Offenses and Defenses in Texas (3 editions), a treatise on Texas criminal law.
  • Co-author of Texas Criminal Procedure (multiple editions), a widely adopted casebook.
  • Author of A Peace Officer's Guide to Texas Law (multiple editions), a book outlining and summarizing important developments in Texas law for law enforcement officers and administrators.
  • Contributing author of Exclusion of Evidence Within the EU and Beyond, published by the Max-Planck-Institute for Foreign and International Criminal Law.
  • Editor of Police Legal Digest, a monthly publication of the Texas Police Journal (since 1983).
  • Author or co-author of numerous law review articles published by Hastings Constitutional Law Quarterly, the Texas Tech Law Review, the Oklahoma Law Review, the Houston Law Review, the St. Mary's Law Review, and others.
