Before St. Mary's

From 1988 until 1991, she worked for the Washington D.C. law firm of Patton Boggs. Having decided to focus her work on legal and policy issues surrounding poverty, she then moved to work as a staff attorney for Bexar County Legal Aid representing low income clients in individual claims and through state and federal legislative advocacy on health care, public benefits and other issues of importance to the low income community. Before joining St. Mary’s in 2007, she taught as an adjunct supervising attorney in the Civil Justice Clinic in 1997, 1999 and 2000.
