  1. How long are my files maintained at St. Mary's University?
    Answer: Incident Report files are kept until you graduate or for five years after the incident.
     
  2. Will I be called as a witness for a formal hearing?
    Answer: You may be called as a witness if you were involved in an incident or if you are able to provide some information relevant to the case.
     
  3. Will this Incident Report hold up in court?
    Answer: It is possible for Incident Reports to be used in court when students choose to file criminal charges.
     
  4. Will my parents be informed of the Incident Report?
    Answer: Parents are informed only if the student is a dependent and at the discretion of the Dean of Students.

  5. Can I have a support person (advisor) with me durng a formal hearing?
    Answer: Students may have one advisor at the hearing.  This person is there to provide support and advise the accused student but does not speak for the accused student or addess the hearing body.
