Welcome from the Interfraternity Council

Greek Life is a dynamic group of men and women on all of their campuses. Whether you are a scholar, an athlete or out to meet new people and get involved, Greek life is a place to call home amongst friends.

Your college years will be filled with hours in class, the library and studying at your desk. You will also find time to meet new people and explore the social scene on your campus. Fraternal life is a great way to meet new friends and make campus connections.

Joining a Fraternity is the choice of a lifetime. Membership in a Fraternity opens the door to new and exciting things during your college years and beyond. Fraternity life is an interesting combination of friendship, brotherhood, personal growth, and leadership, no matter which organization you choose to join. All are unique and you are sure to find your best fit in one of them.

The decision to participate in fraternity recruitment is one that should be well thought out and investigated. The most common way to pledge a fraternity is through the formal recruitment period. St. Mary’s University has an organization called IFC (Interfraternity Council) – the governing body that organizes activities including all fraternity chapters. IFC organizes the time and events that make up formal recruitment.

As you explore the Greek Life website, take the time to research all the organizations and remember that wherever you choose, you are joining a community like no other, Greek Life.
