St. Mary's has 13 Greek organizations that can be categorized into social, service, social/service, and academic. Each organization has something different to offer, however all of them encompass the four tenants of Greek Life: Scholarship, Leadership, Brotherhood/Sisterhood, and Service. ScholarshipSt. Mary's Greek Letter organizations support the academic mission of St. Mary's University by encouraging their members to attend study halls and to participate in other academic success programs. LeadershipStudents involved in Greek Letter organizations obtain valuable experience through chapter management, day-to-day operations, self-governing and community involvement. Greek student leaders gain skills in areas of organization, communication, responsibility, time management, accountability, decision-making, and money management. Brotherhood/SisterhoodEach year Greek Letter organizations donate thousands of hours of their time to philanthropic projects and community service endeavors. Each chapter has its own philanthropy which is supported on an on-going basis. ServiceJoining a Greek Letter organization is not about conformity. It's about finding a place where you can celebrate your individuality, while sharing commons bonds with your brothers or sisters.
