Alex Briseno, Professor of Public Service

The Master of Public Administration (MPA) is a 36 semester hour, non-thesis program designed to train managers of local government and public leaders engaged in community service of various kinds. The program stresses development of political, managerial and analytical skills, in addition to ethical and professional values. Recognizing the critical need for individuals who can be innovative in the increasingly challenging career field of public service, the program offers a rigorous mix of theoretical and applied knowledge courses that draws on the expertise of a strong and diverse graduate faculty from across the university.
