Students must pass a written comprehensive examination, taken during the last semester in which all coursework (including incompletes) is completed. The examination is offered twice a year, in the Fall and in the Spring. Summer graduates must take the examination in the prior semester. To be eligible to sit for the examination during a given semester, students must be in good academic standing and must have a "B" or better in all required courses and at least a "C" average in electives at the midterm grading period in that semester. Failure to pass the examination after two attempts will result in dismissal from the Psychology Graduate Program. Master of Science students must also pass an oral defense of their thesis.
