Master of Arts in Counseling
Graduation

Once a student has completed all coursework, internships, and the comprehensive exam, he or she is ready to graduate. Students must complete the Application for Graduation, the Graduate Application for Degree, (Blue Card) and pay the Graduation fees with the Bursar’s office.
The Application for Graduation and the Graduate Application for Degree is due to the Counseling Department office at early registration for the semester you plan to graduate, usually the semester before your last semester. Once we receive your Application for Graduation, a degree audit is conducted to verify that all courses have been completed or in process and that all internship hours have been completed. Students will not be allowed to graduate if they have not completed their internship hours by the end of their last semester. If you have any questions please contact your program director an advising appointment:

MFT: Dr. Randy Lyle at rlyle@stmarytx.edu
Community/Mental Health: Dr. H. Ray Wooten at hrwooten@stmarytx.edu

The Application for Graduation, with your degree audit, goes to the Graduate Council for approval. The Graduate Application for Degree will be forward to the Registrar’s office for processing once the department receives it.The Bursar will bill you after the Registrar processes your application.
