Students must have completed 12 hours of education or the equivalent. The Graduate Program Director may require additional undergraduate prerequisites in theology, psychology, and/or education. Classroom teaching experience is desirable.

A student may proceed with graduate work while completing prerequisites, with permission from the Graduate Program Director.

Theology prerequisites may also be satisfied by completion of Diocesan Catechetical II in the San Antonio Archdiocese or Pastoral Institute courses in the Corpus Christi Diocese.
